SnehalayaHyderabad

COVID-19 and the lockdowns made children vulnerable to many other ills. Snehalaya saw a 20% increase in the number of abandoned newborns to have come to their child adoption centre. Adoptions too were put on hold. Our fundraiser raised ₹75+ lakh for the care of these babies before they find their forever homes and for abandoned pregnant minor girls and women who need medical and nutritional care.

With the funds, Snehalaya will provide shelter and medical and nutritional support to the babies, who arrive with health issues, as well as facilitate their adoption. Plus, a sanctuary, healthcare and rehabilitation for 40 pregnant girls and women.

Vikram KrishnaHyderabad

High-school student Vikram Krishna was so concerned about the suffering caused by the pandemic in India, he ran a 'musical fundraiser' to contribute ₹10 lakh for ration kits with a week's supply of food for Covid-hit families. For this, the 16-year-old from Hong Kong International School did a saxophone cover of the famous song “We are the World” and shared it on his fundraising page.

This heart warming fundraiser went past its target and raised ₹10.7L, enough to feed 2,145 families for a week. Moreover, 25% of donations made in the month of August 2020 was matched by A.T.E. Chandra Foundation.
