Help rural kids get access to virtual classes
Please support eVidyaloka to help bring technology to underprivileged rural kids.
eVidyaloka is a educational social enterprise, with a vision to enable quality in education for the children of rural India. It is realized by connecting passionate individuals as volunteer teachers from across the world with the Govt elementary schools in remote and rural villages of India, leveraging technology. It is focused on the children in the age group of 10-14 (5th to 8th grade), delivering live interactive classes in the local medium, through a powerful partner eco system.

The lockdown across the country has brought education to a standstill for millions of rural children.
While students in cities attend online classes from the comfort of their homes, most rural students have neither access to Internet-enabled devices nor teachers equipped to teach online. This long gap in education threatens to raise the rate of school dropouts exponentially, as underprivileged parents might engage them in supporting their livelihood. The health risks associated with Covid-19, job losses and forced migration, only add to the problem.
At eVidyaloka, we use technology to empower rural education, since 2011. In the academic year 2019-20, we enabled 1700+ volunteer teachers from across the globe to teach 20,000+ children in 237 villages across 10 States; solving the severe shortage of teachers in government schools through live, interactive classes.
Today, as schools are closed and classrooms locked, we are striving to re-connect our volunteer teachers to rural children through Internet-enabled smart phones.
However, the larger problem we are preparing to solve is to ENSURE NO CHILD DROPS OUT ONCE THE SCHOOLS REOPEN. For this, we need to enable eVidya technology in more rural classrooms, deploy and train new volunteer teachers and use local partners to ensure parents re-enrol their children. This is no easy task.
We seek your support, now more than ever, to ensure that every child is BACK TO eVIDYA SCHOOL!
Through a small donation of just Rs. 3,650 (Rs. 10 / day) or more, you can ensure one rural-poor child has access to eVidya school for the whole year! We are raising funds to support at least 1,000 children, who attend schools in some of the remotest rural locations in India. Your donation will cover the costs of technology, classroom Internet access, content development and teacher training. Thanks for your generous support!
