Recurring Operational expenses of our Medical Testing Unit (MTU), the Advanced Physiotherapy Centre.
In Amar Seva Sangam, the Medical Testing Unit was set up in 1998 with aid from the government of Japan. As a nerve centre MTU is extensively used by the challenged individuals. This unit is quite popular and we have a separate section for new born babies who need physiotherapy attention right from the early stages. The center’s approach is modern and uses items like soft mattresses, mirrors, specific play materials for the children apart from new rehabilitation techniques. All the facilities extended to the users are at a
very minimal cost. The unit has well equipped electro therapy appliances which contains various advanced features for treating pain conditions of the back, neck, knee, etc. Daily,
about 100 service users derive benefit from this unit with total services per month crossing over 2500.
Awareness about our MTU reached far and wide in the rural villages of Tirunelveli district and hence more number of out-patients are coming for treatment. The current infrastructure is not capable of meeting all the demands of handling this high volume of patients which requires additional space and more equipments involving high recurring operational costs.
Sustenance – A Challenge
With a limited income and large scale expenses, there is a huge deficit which needs to
be bridged to provide quality care for the physically challenged patients, necessitating grants from benevolent patrons and the need to maintain the institutions with highest hygiene and upkeep, it is becoming difficult to meet the revenue gap year after year. This puts additional pressure on the Institution.
The recurring operational expenses of this technology based modern Physiotherapy Centre come close to Rs. 20 lakhs every year. We urge upon the philanthropic minded donors to come forward and liberally contribute through this campaign, so that the Centre functions
without any financial hurdle.
