Running for a Blood Sufficient Country!
I am running at the 2016 Airtel Delhi Half Marathon for ‘BloodConnect Foundation’, a not for profit organisation working towards solving the problem of blood shortage. It is the country's largest youth led community envisioning a blood sufficient country.
78000+ lives saved, 400+ camps organised, 5000+ helpline requests raised and a strong 250+ volunteer base in 6 operational years might seem like numbers. But this is work. Work that happens when a BloodConnect volunteer achieves the balance. The fine balance between college coursework and BloodConnect work.
How do I know so much? Well, with almost 3 years of being part of this revolution, I have come to terms with knowing that leaving this organisation is just not happening. I can only stop when the problem I pledged to solve, stops.
With the enthusiasm and zeal of 250 college students, BloodConnect is going make great things happen. Do you plan to be part of the journey?
It's all about donating that one Saturday dine out, that comfortable cab ride to home, that extra Kurti you shopped, and that extra expense you can save to support a cause, a life.
So donate generously. Every rupee counts and has the potential to save more lives.
P.S- Make blood donation a habit. You are eligible to donate every 3 months. Book your appointment at your nearest blood bank NOW!
