Eco Champs is an initiative of Bhumi to inculcate habits of waste segregation and waste reduction among children in schools in day-to-day life.
The program is designed to encourage students to connect with the environment through various activities, which aim at inducing behavioural changes that stresses the need for environmental preservation through eco-friendly, sustainable practices.
Household wastes constitutes majority of the garbage dump that engulfs the world in pollution. The aftermath of ineffective waste management is witnessed globally. In several cities of India, lakes have been turned into dump-yards, wrecking the beauty of nature. Waste disposal has escalated to an alarming level that demands sustainable action to manage and control waste-disposal by households across all regions.
This program will be introduced in schools, where Bhumi will help create a club that leads the school towards eco-friendly practices encourage participation of all stakeholders, including parents and the community, conduct events / competitions that will involve completion of various tasks and activities assigned to students throughout the year at various levels help assess impact on the school and the children.Schools will get due recognition for their effort, on successful implementation of the programme.
Bhumi, one of India’s largest independent youth volunteer non-profit organisation has initiated a Catalyse Program. The programme includes one-off and regular volunteering activities engaging over 10,000 volunteers each year in over 15 cities across India.
Over 2.5 lakh volunteering hours are clocked every year towards social causes by Volunteers of Bhumi. Under the catalyse program, we aim to address the civic wrongs for causes like education, environment, animals and community. Help us in strengthening our volunteers to strengthen India.
