Dear Friends,

We are faced with a very grave situation nationally and many of us have lost near and dear ones in the last few weeks, to the second wave of Covid-19. Delhi Solidarity Group (DSG), is a platform of several individuals and organisations, and has been working to support and strengthen peoples’ movements, groups of oppressed communities, domestic workers groups, waste recyclers groups, sewage workers groups, mazdoor unions, etc.

With a special focus on the marginalised people of the NCR, as a response to this crisis, we have formed a para-medical and civic action team. We are trying to primarily provide basic information about care at home, consultation with Doctors where necessary, and ensuring that essential medical, food and other requirements of the patients and their care-givers are met. Several known experts and doctors are working with us round the clock to provide care, support and monitoring of these patients.

In the last few days, we have observed that there is a dire requirement of basic equipment like Oximeters, Thermometers and essential Medicines - along with basic food and fruits. We have been able to support a few people with our personal resources, but there is a growing demand, especially from those who are not able to access it or afford it (the poor and the marginalised communities such as migrant workers, domestic workers, sewage workers, etc.)

In addition, we are putting our best effort to reach out to the suppliers and dealers of medical oxygen, whose information has been provided by the Delhi state and Central governments, to make arrangements for the patients as per directions of the consulting doctor.

So far, we have been able to chip in with individual contributions but the demand is much more. We strongly feel that at a time when our government and the political leadership has let us down, when the judiciary is not standing up to this grave national disaster exasperated by administrative mismanagement, the ordinary people and civil society need to step up and do whatever we can to help our fellow humans.

We humbly request you to help us by providing monetary contributions, so that we may continue to meet the needs of the patients and their families.

Please pledge your support, donate now!

Thank you

Note: In the fundraiser that we started on 28 April, we were unable to receive foreign contribution. Therefore, based on discussion with GiveIndia support team, we setup this new appeal. We are working with them to try and merge the two fundraisers.
