NGO SAPNA - COVID RELIEF FUND-SECOND WAVE

Dear Friends,

Greetings from Sapna.

As you are aware, the Covid-19 pandemic is witnessing a huge surge of cases, each day bringing a new record of infections and untold misery to the poor and the underprivileged. We are addressing this unprecedented crisis by helping the poor and needy in multiple ways:

  • Distribution of Covid-Care Kit (CCK) in Safdarjung Hospital
  • Distribution of Ration Kit in Delhi & Noida
  • Distribution of Covid-Care Kit in Alwar, Rajasthan
  • Distribution of Covid-Care Kit in Chhattisgarh
  • Distribution of Ration Kit in Bihar
  • Distribution of Ration Kit in Dehradun & Haldwani

In Delhi, we are partnering with the Safdarjung Hospital to provide for a Covid-Care Kit (CCK) to a moderately sick poor patient who is Covid-affected but does not need hospitalization and can be treated at home. The CCK contains a thermometer, oximeter, hand-sanitizer, N95 masks, medicines and a week’s supply of dry rations. The distribution is taking place at our counter next to the Covid Emergency Services.

We are also distributing Ration Kits to the needy from our Noida centre. Our Executive Member Shri RRP Singh (8826200922) is steering the projects in Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi & Noida.

We are distributing Ration Kits to the needy in Nizamuddin Basti & old Delhi. Our Executive Member Shri Samiur Rahman (9990183927) is leading this initiative.

We have started distribution of Covid-Care Kits to our school children as well as the poor and needy in the surrounding areas from our centre in Alwar, Rajasthan. Ms. Manisha Ganju (9772216004), our school principal is leading this initiative in Alwar.

We have expanded our work to Chhattisgarh. We have partnered with Sangwari, an organization in Surguja, led by Dr. Yogesh Jain, a globally recognized public health physician (ex AIIMS), and his team of barefoot doctors who are taking care of Covid cases in Ambikapur, and villages of Lakhampur. We are equipping the medical team with essentials such as Thermometers, Oximeters, N95 Masks, Hand Sanitizers, and PPE Kits.

Sapna is working with women artisans to revive the handcrafted traditions of Bihar. The women have already been organized into producer groups, but during the current Covid wave are completely without work and are finding very difficult to feed themselves and their families. As a support we are distributing ration kits in the four artisanal villages in Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Nalanda & Patna districts.

Our Executive Member Ms. Sujata Prasad (9810282644) is leading the Chhattisgarh and Bihar chapter.

We are distributing Ration Kits to the needy in Dehradun & Haldwani. Our Executive Member Ms. Asha Tewari (8280027203) is leading the initiative.

A part of the generated funds will be used to support our frontline Covid warriors.

We appeal for funds to sustain these initiatives for the next couple of months, as things are going to get much worse. Let’s help as much as we can.
