Hi, I'm Shruti and March is Endometriosis Awareness Month and during this month, I'm looking to raise money for women who need menstrual hygiene kits with the Myna Mahila Foundation.

To sponsor a girl from Mumbai’s slums with a menstrual hygiene kit for one year, it only costs rs1000 (US$14) - that's it, just rs1000 for ONE YEAR!

It surprises me that it's all that it takes!!

Myna say that "all the donations go towards providing a menstrual hygiene kit consisting of sanitary napkins, shampoo, underwear, soap and a period tracker."

To help create more impact and touch more lives and provide, I need your support and contribution. Please back my fundraiser so that together we can help those who have periods lead healthier and productive lives and so that they have one less thing to worry about - so that they can focus on their education, their careers and building their life towards self sufficiency.

Pledge your support, donate now and let's see how many menstrual hygiene kits we can raise! Thank you :)

If you wish to know more about endometriosis...

Endometriosis is a condition in which the lining of the uterus is found to be growing outside it - a few examples of where it can be found are the ovaries, fallopian tubes, bladder, chest, bowels and more - there are some rare cases of endometriosis being found in the brain as well.

Basically, endometriosis can be found almost anywhere in the body and it will then disrupt the functioning of that organ or region.

I've had endometriosis for 26 years. It's not just a painful and incurable condition, but it alters a woman's life. Period pains are often dismissed - you're told it's "all in your head, you're imagining it" - and if no one believes you then you end up suffering away for months and years.

Unfortunately it takes an average of 7.5 years to be believed and diagnosed with endometriosis leaving many women struggling with their jobs and their personal life.

Mental health is severely impacted by this.

So please, period pain is NOT normal.
