Thank you to all those who have supported the relief efforts. We are now extending the ration support to 500 more needy families in Mumbai and Thane, with your support.

SNEHA (Society for Nutrition, Education and Health Action) works to improve the health and safety of women, adolescents and children living in the most vulnerable urban slum communities of Mumbai.

From the start of the pandemic, in April 2020, SNEHA has arranged for distribution of dry rations to 29,401 needy families. We also distributed two rounds of fresh fruit and vegetable boxes to 15,000 families within the containment areas of Dharavi in partnership with Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM). The second wave of COVID-19 pandemic and the extended lockdown has left our communities in despair and the need for food relief support has risen again.

We request your support to reach at least 1000 families living in urban slums in the month of May 2021. Our teams have identified families that are most in need of direct relief, including families with pregnant women, daily wage earners, single-woman households, etc. Each ration pack will contain essential groceries and health products including – Rice, Wheat Flour, Dal varieties, Cooking Oil, Sugar, Salt, Tea Powder, Bathing Soap, Detergent bar and Detergent Powder. The cost of each pack is Rs.800/-

Each donation of Rs.800/- will support one family of 5-6 members for a 12 to 15-day period. These packs will be distributed in the following areas:

  • Kalwa – 250 ration packs
  • Dharavi – 250 ration packs
  • Kandivali - 250 ration packs
  • Thane - 250 ration packs

We request your support to reach these 1000 needy families when it is required the most.

Apart from food relief, SNEHA is also supporting healthcare workers of public hospitals with PPE material (masks, gloves, sanitizers). We are also working on the vaccination efforts through provision of deep freezers to the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) for vaccine storage and transport.
