Support Children during Coronavirus Crisis

To mitigate the adverse effect of the Coronavirus pandemic on the children, The Toy Bank has initiated Covid Relief Initiative: Reach and Teach Program for 1,500 children who are adversely affected by the Coronavirus crisis in India.

The Toy Bank distributes "DIY- activity-based learning kits" and implements "E-learning activity worksheets" to support remote learning. The activity kits provided by The Toy Bank will allow the children to learn by the play-way method.

The program aims to

a) Increase access to learning aid and toys at home,

b) Engage children with activity-based learning worksheets aims to strengthen the learning outcomes in language, numeracy, environmental awareness and life skills, and

c) Minimize the adverse effects of house arrest on social and emotional well-being.


After implementing the project for a year, we have witnessed 

1. 35 per cent rise in online attendance.

2. 20-30 per cent improvement in the language skills, like the ability to write their name in Hindi and English, alphabets identification, converse in English.

3. 40-50 per cent improvement in the numeracy skills like counting, ascending and descending order, addition, subtraction and able to apply simple concepts of arithmetic in day to day activities.

4. 30-50 per cent improvement in the environmental awareness and life skills as per the learning outcomes stated by the NCERT. Like the ability to identify different body parts, colours and emergency numbers.
